With the highly anticipated movie release this past weekend of The Great Gatsby, its influence on weddings and events has taken off. Our Gatsby-inspired shoot with photographer Michelle Wade and Paramount Wedding Designs (as seen below) has given us a bit of Gatsby fever as well. Here are some of our favorite weddings and inspired shoots that continue along this elegant and decadent theme.
When planning a wedding or special event there’s no greater compliment than your guest walking in and being wowed by their first impression. However, first impressions actually start the moment they receive their invitation, or even save the dates. Why not make a lasting impression from the very start? The art of letterpress has been around since the mid-15th century, but almost disappeared as technology advanced us into the digital age. However, it’s made a strong comeback over the past decade as people embrace the handmade again, and we’ve seen some great examples here at Marquee.
Below is work by Hartford Prints!, a family-run paper goods shop and letterpress studio that specializes in distinctive letterpress for weddings and special occasions.
The Great Gatsby is an inspiring trend right now with its hot style and cool jazz undertones. Paramount Wedding Designs and photographer Michelle Wade brought in their dream team to put together this Gatsby-inspired shoot at Marquee. We’re happy to share the exquisite photos that resulted.

Our Atrium, which boasts 30’ marble columns and travertine marble floors (all of which have been restored to their original 1920’s glory), is in the heart of our three venue spaces. While we entertained 500+ people for the Taste of Hartford here last week, below you will see April Eve’s photo of the same space all decked out for a wedding. It’s a beautiful space for any occasion.
