Who can resist a man in a bow tie? Bow ties have been the proper accompaniment to tuxedoes since their debut in the 1800’s, but were replaced over time by the long tie for a more casual look. In recent years, however, bow ties have been making a comeback — and all of a sudden they’ve had a boost in popularity. These classic accessories embrace a sense of timelessness and make any occasion special. Custom bow ties make great gifts for groomsmen (check out all of the options on Etsy) and don’t forget the ring bearer! (And here’s a quick reminder on how to tie one properly, just in case.) We love this stylish fashion trend!

We’re seeing more and more succulents trending in wedding floral design and we love it! These little beauties, which come in a variety of shapes, sizes and even colors are perfect for adding a modern touch to any occasion. With their elegant (yet nontraditional) style, they can be used by themselves or accompanied with flowers. Our favorite detail, however, is the fact that you can plant them after your big day as a keepsake and constant reminder of your beautiful event.
Darren McKenty, executive director of Marquee Events, was interviewed recently for two articles in the latest issue of Hartford Magazine. In the first, he talks about seating arrangements for your wedding and how to tackle many of the complicated situations that arise during the planning. Darren suggests starting with your bridal party and continue dispersing everyone else around them. He also confirms that people are choosing sweetheart tables over head tables, which is a wonderful improvement. Read more of what he had to say in the full article here.
The second feature discusses how best to find a hotel for your guests. Again, Darren talks about key factors including location, transportation, nightlife, proximity to other hotels and cost. Get the details and tips in the full article on Hartford Magazine’s website.
We’re sure you will find some helpful tips for your wedding planning!
As promised, here is the second segment of Jayme and Kile’s beautiful holiday wedding. We loved so many of the details, from the elegant flowers by Just For You Floral Design to the handmade items by Jayme herself. Yes, you read that right — she did the menus, table numbers, programs and even the calligraphy on the escort cards! We simply loved all of these details which made this occasion so memorable.
